Patel Says Comey ‘Concealed’ Clinton Probe, Distorted FBI Procedures

FBI Deputy Director Kash Patel claimed last week that former FBI Director James Comey “concealed investigations” into then-presidential candidate Hillary Clinton in 2016. In an interview with Fox News’ Maria Bartiromo, Patel accused Comey of overstepping his authority and making independent decisions about prosecutions that should have fallen under the DOJ and Attorney General.

Patel pointed to the Clinton email scandal, saying Comey “intentionally omitted investigation information” and distorted decisions while leading the bureau. Comey famously held a 2016 press conference where he declared that “no reasonable prosecutor” would charge Clinton, despite acknowledging mishandling of classified information. He reopened the probe just days before the election, which Clinton later cited as a major reason for her loss.

Patel also alleged that Comey “maliciously distorted” the FBI’s use of FISA procedures during the Trump-Russia investigation, calling it a hoax Clinton helped manufacture.

Deputy Director Dan Bongino backed Patel’s claims, revealing on “Fox & Friends” that agents found unprocessed materials from Comey’s era in a previously unmentioned room. He said efforts are underway to declassify documents, some of which were “hidden in bags” and never entered into official FBI records.

The comments follow a cryptic Instagram post by Comey showing seashells arranged to read “8647,” which some interpret as a veiled message about removing Trump, referencing the slang term “86” and Trump as the potential 47th president.
