Trump’s Warning: ICE to Ramp Up Deportations in Three Cities
Former President Donald Trump is pressing forward with his immigration agenda despite widespread protests over recent ICE raids. Dismissing his critics as “radical Democrat politicians,” Trump remains focused on implementing what he calls the largest mass deportation initiative in U.S. history.
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is set to increase its daily arrest numbers dramatically—from approximately 650 to 3,000. Trump has publicly praised ICE officers for their bravery in the face of threats and harassment, instructing them to fully utilize their authority to meet this ambitious target.
The effort is particularly focused on Los Angeles, New York, and Chicago—cities with large undocumented immigrant populations. Trump has vowed to intensify operations in these urban centers to detain and deport more individuals.
He also accused his political opponents of using undocumented immigrants to expand their voter base, manipulate elections, and enlarge the welfare state—claims critics say are unfounded and inflammatory. Trump further tied the immigration crackdown to broader cultural issues, including debates over open borders and transgender rights.
According to the administration, all available federal resources—including the FBI and other agencies—are being directed toward this mission. As of April 2025, approximately 140,000 people had been deported, although some independent estimates suggest the actual figure may be lower.
