Federal Crackdown Intensifies
In a strong display of the federal government’s ongoing commitment to border security, recent enforcement actions across Texas have led to multiple arrests and convictions. These operations highlight the administration’s zero-tolerance stance on unlawful entry and related criminal activity.
Assault on a Border Patrol Agent in Katy, Texas
What began as a routine checkpoint inspection on U.S. Highway 57 near Katy, Texas, quickly escalated into a violent encounter. Kevin Dominguez, a 26-year-old Texas resident, approached the checkpoint in a sedan. A trained Border Patrol canine alerted agents to possible contraband or suspicious activity in the trunk.
During the inspection, agents discovered an individual concealed inside the vehicle. Rather than comply with authorities, Dominguez abruptly reversed his car, striking a Border Patrol agent, and fled the scene. A high-speed pursuit ensued.
Aerial surveillance later captured two individuals fleeing the vehicle into an open field. One of them was identified as an undocumented noncitizen from Honduras.
