Steve Doocy Shifts to New Role at Fox News’ Fox & Friends

Veteran Fox & Friends co-host Steve Doocy is transitioning into a new position with the network after nearly 30 years on the morning show. Instead of retiring, Doocy will continue contributing to Fox & Friends, but in a new capacity as the dedicated host of the show’s remote segments, many of which will now be based in Florida.
Doocy, who has anchored the show since its launch, will no longer appear regularly on the studio’s iconic “curvy couch.” His co-hosts Ainsley Earhardt, Lawrence Jones, and Brian Kilmeade will continue broadcasting from the New York studio, while Doocy joins remotely a few days a week.
Reflecting on his early-morning schedule and the toll it has taken over the years, Doocy became emotional during the announcement, recalling the thousands of mornings his alarm went off at 3:30 AM. He expressed gratitude for the opportunity to stay involved with the show in a more flexible way.
“I’m not retiring,” he clarified. “I’m still part of the team, but it’s time for a new chapter.” Doocy noted that the new arrangement will allow him to travel and highlight stories across the country, from Florida to the Midwest. More personally, it will also give him time to spend with his children and grandchildren—something he missed out on during his early career.
Playfully calling himself the “coast-to-coast host,” Doocy said he’s ready to trade early-morning donut runs for breakfasts with his grandkids.
