Fox News Wins Defamation Lawsuit Filed by Hunter Biden Whistleblower
A New York judge dismissed Tony Bobulinski’s $30 million defamation lawsuit against Fox News co-host Jessica Tarlov and ordered Bobulinski to pay her legal fees. Judge J. Paul Oetken ruled that Tarlov’s motion to dismiss was granted, and she was entitled to attorney’s fees under New York’s anti-SLAPP law.
A Fox News spokesperson praised the decision, noting it marked the first federal court ruling to award fees under the anti-SLAPP statute.
Bobulinski sued Tarlov over comments she made in January on The Five, where she suggested a Trump Super PAC paid for his legal fees. After receiving a demand for retraction, Tarlov issued a clarification, but Bobulinski demanded a further apology. Fox News stood by Tarlov’s statements and refused to issue more corrections.
The court sided with Fox News, finding Bobulinski failed to show that Tarlov’s statements harmed his professional reputation, as they were not specific to his business conduct.
